Junto con otros riders realizamos un upwind y downwind desde la playa del Arbeyal a la playa de San Lorenzo en Gijón. Tardamos 40 minutos en subir hasta San Lorenzo y poco menos de 20 en regresar al Arbeyal. Las condiciones de la mar no eran óptimas que que encontramos fuerte oleaje al salir del abrigo del muelle. No obstante la abundancia de veleros y otras embarcaciones por la zona me transmitía la tranquilidad de no estar solos en el mar y me daba un punto más de seguridad.
Las condiciones de viento han sido cambiantes. Soplaba demasiado de componente este lo que hace que sea un viento bastante racheado, y al salir a mar abierto fuera del resguardo del puerto el viento entraba con más intensidad.
La cometa ha respondido mejor de lo esperado, es mucho más intuitiva que su antecesora y el dpower al ser más progresivo te permite llevar la cometa en su punto justo. La velocidad de giro es correcta y sobre todo tremendamente mejor que la versión anterior. Esta v2 tiene una velocidad de giro constante que te permite tener más confianza a la hora de tirar los kiteloops.
En los momentos en los que la intensidad del viento bajaba la cometa responde estupendamente y basta moverla un poco para genera empuje suficiente y poder seguir avanzando.
A la hora de regresar la cometa a pesar de volver empopado y con un mar muy picado (olas de casi dos metros) no se desventa queda como esperando y basta con tirar de la barra para volver a ganar tracción. Este es mi punto débil, los downwind, y sin embargo con esta cometa me ha resultado mucho más sencillo que en otras ocasiones con otras cometas.
La Switch element v2 se ha desenvuelto de manera sensacional como cometa para freeride.
Yesterday I could finally test my element 9m v2.
Along with other riders performed a upwind and downwind from Arbeyal Beach to San Lorenzo beach in Gijon. It took 40 minutes to climb to San Lorenzo and just under 20 in return to Arbeyal. The sea conditions were not ideal that we find strong waves wrap leaving dock. Despite the abundance of sailboats and other vessels in the area I conveyed the quiet of not being alone in the sea and give me a safety point.
The wind conditions have been changing. Easterly blowing too making it a very gusty wind, and out to the open sea outside the shelter of the harbor the wind came with more intensity.
The kite has responded better than expected, it is much more intuitive than its predecessor and to be more progressive dpower lets you bring the kite just right. The speed is particularly tremendously accurate and better than the previous version. This v2 has a constant speed that allows you to have more confidence when throwing kite loops.
In the times when the wind speed down the kite responds brilliantly and simply move it around to generate sufficient thrust to move forward.
When the comet returned again despite pouf and a very choppy sea (six-foot waves) not disadvantage is like waiting and just pull the bar to regain traction. This is my weak point, the downwind, and yet with this kite I found it much easier than in the past with other kites.
